Obituary for Andrew Pyryt

PYRYT, Andrew, age 88, of Saddle Brook, died on October 28, 2020. Born and raised in Garfield for 33 years, he moved to Saddle Brook 55 years ago. Andrew worked in the education field over 40 years, first as the Director of Guidance then Principal for the Cliffside Park Board of Education retiring in 1994. In his retirement, he worked as a starter for the Paramus Golf Course many years, and he was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Kostka RC Church, Garfield. Andrew was a proud family man and especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren grow up attending each and every sporting event they participated in. In addition, he was an avid golfer and like to spend time teaching his grandchildren the sport. Andrew is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Jane (nee Rzeplinski), four devoted children, Ann Orlovsky and husband Richard, Patricia Avedissian, Jeanne Pratt and husband Randy, and Barbara Paiotti and husband Angelo, eight adored grandchildren, Keri Gramo (Nick), Christian, Jason, and Justin Avedissian, Tyler and Drew Pratt, and Nicole and Matthew Paiotti, and one cherished great-granddaughter, Delaney Gramo. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He is predeceased by his siblings, Edward Pyryt, Stella Adamczyk, and Jean Syrek, and a son-in-law, Manny Avedissian. A private Mass was held at St. Stanislaus Kostka RC Church in Garfield with his burial at St. Nicholas Cemetery, Lodi. In lieu of flowers the family is accepting donations for St. Stanislaus Kostka RC Church, Garfield, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
