MANEY, Anna Maria (nee Brancato), age 59, of Punta Gorda, Florida, died on December 14, 2022. Born in Palermo, Sicily she lived there for two years moving to Garfield for 44 years settling in Punta Gorda, Florida in 2009. She was a receptionist at the Sleep Center and the Addiction and Substance Abuse Center at Hackensack University Medical Center for many years prior to relocating to Florida and formerly was a clerk at the Bergen County Court House in Hackensack. Anna was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Virgin RC Church, Garfield, and San Antonio RC Church in Punta Gorda, Florida where she volunteered as a Eucharistic Minister. Anna spent her time volunteering at the Port Charlotte Nursing Home in Port Charlotte, FL where she would pray the rosary with the residents. Anna enjoyed crafting, knitting and painting. She is predeceased by her father, Anthony Brancato. She is survived by her husband of 18 years, Michael Maney, her beloved daughter, Michele Joseph and husband Larry, her dear mother, Rosa Brancato, two adored grandchildren, Luca Pellerito and Anthony Pellerito, and a cherished sister, Maria Cangialosi along with her nephews Nicholas Cangialosi (Amanda) and Anthony Cangialosi (Samantha) and niece Kristina Cangialosi. Memorial Visiting Friday 7 to 9 pm. The funeral is Saturday, January 21, 2023, arriving at the Aloia Funeral Home at 11 am followed by a 12 pm Memorial Mass at Our Lady of Mt. Virgin RC Church, Garfield. In lieu of flowers the family is accepting donations for Dr. Irene Cortese of the National Institute of Health to help further research for treatment of Progressive Multifocal Leukencephalopathy and will forward to the research facility.
