NICHOLAS, Marie (nee DeRosa), of Garfield, died on July 12, 2013. Born in NY, NY, she lived there for 35 years settling in Garfield 66 years ago. She was a homemaker, a parishioner of Mt. Virgin Church, a member of the Rosary Society, the Missionary Association of Mary Immaculate, and the Garfield AARP, Golden Agers, and Belmont Garden Seniors. She is predeceased by her husband Salvatore “Sam” in 1985, her parents Vito and Carmela DeRosa, and her siblings, Rocco, Emilio, John, Vito, Frances Grotto, Jennie Licastri, and Josephine Graci. She is survived by two nieces, Gloria DiPaolo and Olympia Manno, and three sisters-in-law, Angie, Christina, and Helen DeRosa. The funeral mass will be 11 am on Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church, Garfield. Interment St. Nicholas Cemetery, Lodi. In lieu of flowers the family is accepting donations for Mt. Virgin Church. The Nicholas family is in the care of the Aloia Funeral Home, 180 Harrison Ave., Garfield (973-340-7077).
