Caleb (CJ) Chiariello of Morristown, NJ, formerly of Fanwood/Scotch Plains, departed on November 9, 2023. He was 24 years old. He graduated in 2017 from Morristown High School, where he ran competitively in varsity cross country and track. He was accepted as a Mensa member at the age of 10. Always a hard worker, he was awarded National Merit Commended Scholar and Presidential Scholar. He graduated from Stevens Institute of Technology with a degree in Accounting and Analytics (Computer Science minor) in May of 2022. Caleb was most recently employed by Toyota of Morristown. Caleb attended Liquid Church for many years, and was baptized in Ocean Grove in 2019. He also attended Newbridge church.
Caleb enjoyed Nintendo games, especially Mario, board games, pizza, and was an avid reader. Dogs could always count on Caleb’s affection and his patience for a lengthy game of fetch. Known for his big smile, Caleb had an infectious laugh and delighted in making babies giggle with a game of peekaboo. Enjoying the natural highs of a belly laugh, roller coasters, and boogie boarding at the Jersey Shore, Caleb was also very proud of his name which translated from the Hebrew compound word means "whole-hearted". He will be remembered for his faithful, tender and pure heart.
Caleb is survived by his parents Jim and Cindy, his sister Allegra and brother Lucas. He also leaves his grandparents, Dave and Trudy Yannaccone, Jim and Annita Chiariello and Georgeanne Inglis. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles and numerous cousins.
The family respectfully requests honoring Caleb’s memory by showing kindness, not “randomly” but with conscious intention to be a friend to someone who is shy or lonely: a call or text to check in and let them know you care, or an invitation to spend time together. Memorial donations may be made to NAMI Middlesex County at https://namiofmiddlesex.org/donate/ or to Angel Studios https://thechosen.tv/en-us/gift/donate.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Newbridge Church on December 2. Visitation will be from 11 am-12 pm with the service immediately following.
