It is with great sadness that the family of Colleen Burns announces her passing.
Devoted Mother and Grandmother, Colleen Alice Burns (nee Dowd), age 64, passed away August 28, 2022. Colleen was born in Belleville, NJ and lived in Union Beach, Jackson, and Browns Mills in the course of her lifetime.
She is survived by her daughter, Dana Burns-Askew, son-in-law, Jesse of Browns Mills, and their six children who referred to her as funny grandma, Sean Felicie of Jackson, Whitney, Britney, Izaiyah, Jayvon, & Jesse, Jr., her son, Timothy Burns Jr of Jackson. She is survived by her sisters, Barbara Barbara Dowd Parsells of Union Beach, Diana Dowd of West Virginia, sisters-in-law, Kathy Banfield of Alaska, Rosemarie Savi of Cliffwood Beach, and Joy Dowd of South Carolina, as well as nieces, Nadine Clifton, Sara Coffeild, Catrina Davis, Melissa Savi-Bonner, goddaughter, Jillian Harper and Goddaughter and Mema to Megan Alt. Nephews Kevin Parsells, Peter James Alt. As well as many more loving nieces & nephews.
Colleen was known for her loving, funny, sometimes crazy, loud personality. She never forgot a birthday and always sent a card to her love ones without fail. She was a proud owner of Clean and Bright cleaning services. To those who knew and loved her Colleen was happiest cleaning, no matter whose house.
Colleen joins her father, Patrick James Dowd, Sr., her mother, Kathleen Joan Dowd, her brothers, Gorden Banfield, Patrick Dowd, Jr., Thomas Dowd, and brother-in-law Kevin Parsells, in peace in heaven.
The family will announce information regarding her celebration of life ceremony in the coming days.
