SAIMSON, Doris K. (nee Kern), age 82, of Garfield, died on February 3, 2023. Born and raised in Stuttgart, Germany nine years, Doris emigrated to the United States living in Clifton five years settling in Garfield 68 years ago. Doris was a nurse 34 years for Passaic General Hospital in Passaic retiring in 1998, and she was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church where she volunteered on the Altar Guild Society. Doris was very independent. She was an avid book reader, gardener, she loved growing things, and was devoted to her family, especially her granddaughters. Doris is predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Frank in 2015. She is survived by her devoted son, Eric H. Saimson and wife Lori, three adored grandchildren, Tiffany and husband Joseph Fahy, Elizabeth and husband Miguel Lopez, and Erica Saimson, and three cherished great-grandchildren, Joseph, Isabella, and Matthew. Visiting Tuesday 4 to 8 pm. The funeral is Wednesday, February 8, 2023, arriving at the Aloia Funeral Home at 9 am followed by a 10 am service at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Garfield.
