ALLEGRA, Giuseppa (nee Toscano), age 90, of Lodi, died on August 16, 2023. Born and raised in Palermo, Sicily-Italy for 39 years, she emigrated to the United States in 1972 living in Lodi the past 51 years. Giuseppa owned and operated with her husband Paul the “Villa Allegra” in Lodi for 16 years retiring in 1995, she was a parishioner of Mt. Virgin Church, Garfield and a member of the Italian-American Women’s Forum of Lodi. Giuseppa is predeceased by her beloved husband of 56 years, Paul in 2013, her grandson, Anthony Polizzotto, and a sister, Concetta LaBarbera. She is survived by her loving children, Michael Allegra (Terese), David Allegra, Emilia Evans (Eric) and Angela Polizzotto (Salvatore), eight adored grandchildren, Tony, Kristin, Sally, Paul, Erica, Jason, Ashley, and Ariana, eight cherished great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Ivy, Taylor, Payton, Paisley, Luca, Vincent, and Giancarlo, and four sisters, Rosalia Vitale, Giovanna Vitamia, Carmela Mantegna and Teresa Megna. Visiting Monday 4 to 8 pm. The funeral is Tuesday, August 22, 2023, arriving at the Aloia Funeral Home at 8 am followed by a 9 am mass at Our Lady of Mt. Virgin RC Church, Garfield. Entombment Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Alzheimer’s Association.
