ELICONA, Grace “Gracie” (nee Palomba), age 94, of Elmwood Park, died on March 12, 2023. Born and raised in the Bronx for 10 years, Grace lived in Manhattan for 25 years settling in Elmwood Park 59 years ago. She was a homemaker, and a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is predeceased by her son, Daniel Elicona in 1991, and her siblings, Vincent “Jimmy” Palomba, Rocco Palomba, Mauro Palomba, Jr. and Inez Salvatore. Gracie is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Daniel A. Elicona, her beloved daughter, Fran Scolaro, three adored grandchildren, Nicole Pacifico and husband Louie, Danielle DePiero and husband Ben, and John “Gio” Scolaro, six cherished great-grandchildren, Ava, Louie, Bella, Mikayla, Luna, and Milani, and she was a special Godmother, aunt and friend to many. Visiting Tuesday 1 to 3 pm and 6 to 8 pm. The funeral is Wednesday, March 15, 2023, arriving at the Aloia Funeral Home at 9 am followed by a 10 am mass at Our Lady of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel RC Church, Ridgewood. Entombment George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. The family is accepting donations for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
