Obituary for Jacob Grecco

GRECCO, Jacob, age 89, of Paterson, died on March 7, 2022. Born and resided in Garfield for 37 years, he settled in Paterson 52 years ago. Jacob was an entrepreneur starting his career as a photographer with Nicastro Studios in Garfield. He co-owned many years DeJay’s Carnivals & Bizarres in North Haledon which was a traveling circus. As a restaurateur, he then owned and operated Pip’s in Garfield and Pip Inn in Blooming Grove, PA. For the past 65 years, he was a self-employed landlord and property manager and he was a devoted parishioner of Blessed Sacrament RC Church, Paterson. He also served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Jacob is predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Theresa M. Grecco (nee Pondo) in 2021, his son, Stephen Jude Grecco in 2021, and his siblings, Stephen Grecco and Millie Pruzinsky. He is survived by two beloved children, Joseph Grecco and wife Rhonda, and John Grecco, six cherished grandchildren, Paige, Tyler, Jake, Ryan, Danny, and Katie, and two dear sisters, Mary Cirello and Josephine Paul. Visiting Wednesday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. The funeral is Thursday, March 17, 2022, arriving at the Aloia Funeral Home at 10 am followed by a 11 am chapel service. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery, Saddle Brook. In lieu of flowers the family is accepting donations for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
