Obituary for James A. Pacifico

PACIFICO, James A., age 68, of Hopatcong, died on June 17, 2023. Born in Passaic, he grew up in Garfield moving to Rockaway with his wife Mimi settling in Hopatcong three years ago with his daughter Tara, who he had by his side everyday and they were inseparable. James was a hazardous material truck driver over 50 years with LaPlace Chemical in Elmwood Park and Carbon Express in Wharton retiring in 2018. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 560, a parishioner of Mt. Virgin Church, Garfield, enjoyed going on his many Casino trips, enjoyed fishing on Lake Hopatcong, and was a die hard NY Yankee fan. James is predeceased by his beloved wife of 21 years, Mary “Mimi” in 2010, and his parents, Louis and Antoinette Pacifico. He is survived by four loving daughters who were his life, Jennifer Pacifico, Jaime Pacifico, Tara Pacifico (Peter Venturini) and Tracy DiRese (Phil Henderson), 11 grandchildren with his cherished relationship with Justin, three great-grandchildren, and two siblings, Louis Pacifico and wife Sandra and “sister” Lorraine Pacifico. He was a dear nephew to Mary Perri, the best uncle to Louis Pacifico, Lindsey Pacifico and Emily Papay, had a very close relationship with his sister-in-law, Pudgy and Bob King, was a great uncle, cousin and friend to many. Visiting Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral is Thursday, June 22, 2023, arriving at the Aloia Funeral Home at 10 am followed by a 11 am mass at Our Lady of Mt. Virgin RC Church, Garfield. Private cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
