SAWEY, Janet F., age 63, of Hawthorne, died in Wayne on December 12, 2020. She was born, raised, and lived in Paterson before moving to Hawthorne. Janet was employed and retired from William Paterson University in Wayne where she worked for many years in custodial services. She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Gerard Majella RC Church in Paterson. She is predeceased by her father, Joseph F. Sawy, Sr. in 2004, and her mother, Jean Sawey in 2009. Janet is survived by her daughter, Leah Sawey, and seven siblings, Dr. Mary Jean Sawey, Sharon Sawey, Joseph F. Sawey, Jr. and his wife Margaret, Lawrence Sawey and his wife Sandy, Michele Ruiz, Eileen Walsh and her husband Dennis, and Theresa Sawey. She is also survived by 12 nieces and nephews and 3 grandnephews and 3 grandnieces. Visitation and service will be private.
