Obituary for John Joseph Toronto

TORONTO, John Joseph, Sr., age 85, of Lodi, died on December 23, 2020. A lifelong resident of Lodi, NJ, John was a devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Virgin Church and a member of the Sacred Heart Society as well as the Fair Lawn Cosmos Club. He owned and operated Mildred’s Catering in Lodi with his wife, Antoinette, and their children for many years. Prior to starting his own business, he worked as an operating engineer. He is predeceased by his loving wife of 60 years, Antoinette Dolores (nee Macaluso). He is survived by his four beloved children, Joe Jr. (wife, Toni), Phil (life partner, Lisa), Blaise Carey (husband, Steve) and Anthony (wife, Tracey). He is survived by two brothers, Vincent and Robert and predeceased by his brother, Phillip and sister, Mildred DeStefano. He is survived by eight grandchildren, Joey (wife, Marie), Jennifer Ross (husband, Michael), Nicholas, Jessica, Stephen, Courtney, Samantha and Daphne. Visiting hours will be on Friday, January 8, 2020 from 5 pm to 7 pm. The funeral is Saturday, January 9, 2021, arriving at the Aloia Funeral Home at 8 am followed by 9 am Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mt. Virgin RC Church, Garfield.
