Obituary for John Thomas Tuohy

TUOHY, John, age 67, of Teaneck, died on April 26, 2023. Born and raised in Washington Heights, New York, he settled in Teaneck 20 years ago. John was of Irish descent, predeceased by his parents, Jack and Helen who passed away in his early 20’s. John went to Mercy College as a full time student while working as a Dairy manager in Gristedes in NYC. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BS degree in Business Administration majoring in Finance. John was featured in the 1988 edition of “Who’s Who” among students in American Universities and Colleges. John lived and loved baseball. In addition, he loved basketball and a new found hobby called Pickle Ball in which he was the Gold Medalist in a Pickle Ball Single’s Tournament. John was the beloved husband to Editha Tuohy and a loving father to Zachary and Tyler. He is survived by his nephews and niece, Danny, David and his girlfriend Shannon, Mickey, Brian, Lauren and her husband Justin with their son, Aidan. He is predeceased by his siblings, Michael and his wife Micky and Kathryn and her husband Sal. A Memorial Service will be held 11 am on Friday, May 12, 2023 at Chapel on the Hill, followed by Committal Service at Madonna Cemetery and Mausoleum, 2070 Hoefley’s Lane, Fort Lee, New Jersey with a reception to follow at the Tuohy’s residence.
