GONZALEZ, Jose Antonio, age 92, of Garfield, died on December 26, 2022. Born and raised in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico for 17 years, Jose lived in the Bronx moving to Saddle Brook for 20 years and settling in Garfield three years ago. He was an engineer 30 years with Lincoln Hospital in the Bronx, New York retiring in 1994, and he was a member of the AFSCME Union - District Council 37 in New York, NY. Jose predeceased by his wife, Angela Gonzalez in 2020. He is survived by three children, Lissette Gonzalez, Jose Gonzalez, Jr. and Albert Gonzalez, two grandchildren, Jake and Angeli Lillman, and two siblings, Juan Gonzalez, and Lucy Gonzalez Gines. Visiting Friday 4 to 7 pm with a 6:45 pm chapel service. Private Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers the family will accept memorial gifts.
