VALENTI, Joseph A., age 74, a lifelong resident of Garfield, died on February 13, 2023. He served in the US Army from 1969 to 1971 during the Vietnam Era, and worked with the United States Postal Service in Garfield for 35 years starting as a letter carrier and retiring in 2004 as a supervisor. In his retirement, Joseph was a part time crossing guard for the Garfield Police Department working at the Garfield Preschool on Ray Street. Joseph is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Terese Renee (nee Furca), his devoted children, Kurt Valenti and wife Jennifer, Ryan Valenti, Jodi Valenti with Michael Procaccino, and Ashly Sher and husband Robert, and two cherished grandchildren, Xavier and Joseph Sher.
