Obituary for Joseph DiLeo

DI LEO, Joseph, age 77, of Garfield, died on December 10, 2020. Born and raised in Monte San Giacomo, Salerno Province, Italy for 11 years, residing in Hoboken and Jersey City before settling in Garfield 24 years ago. Joseph served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. After returning from service he was a self-employed barber, and he owned and operated retail distributing stores. He then became the district manager for the Big M Corporation in Totowa, NJ. He was an active member of the Garfield VFW Benda Roehrich Post 2867, serving as the house manager for many years. Joe is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 40 years, Carol (nee Hopler), three daughters, Christina (spouse Rui Pereira), Francesca (spouse Ruth DiLeo), and Bianca DiLeo, one grandchild, Joseph Pereira, a brother, Anthony DiLeo, and a sister, Jacqueline Rizzo. He is predeceased by a sister, Antoinette Castellitto. Visitation Sunday 4 to 8pm. The funeral is Monday, December 14, 2020, arriving at the Aloia Funeral Home at 8 am followed by a 9 am mass at Our Lady of Mount Virgin RC Church, Garfield. Entombment Fairview Mausoleum, Fairview.
