Josephine Zoon
April 16, 1934- August 7, 2023
Josephine (Ribardo) Zoon, of Wayne, NJ went home peacefully to the Lord after a
courageous battle with cancer at age 89. She was born in Garfield, NJ the daughter of Charles
and Concetta Ribardo.
Josephine married the love of her life, Edward Zoon nearly 70 years ago. They raised
their three children in Wayne, NJ and later retired on a farm in Blairstown, NJ. Together they
loved to travel, garden, and spend winters in Florida. She taught Sunday School for 38 years,
was a proud member of The Chapel, and always looked forward to her weekly bible studies.
She loved to cook and bake, but her greatest joy was spending time with her beloved family.
Josie will be remembered for being gentle, thoughtful, faithful, warm, and above all selfless.
She is predeceased by her parents Charles and Concetta Ribardo, sister Anne, brother
John. Precious memories of Josephine will be held by her beloved husband Edward; sister Mary
Costello; loving children, Edward Jr. (Janice) Zoon, Maryellen (Ted) Diaco, Janet (Mike) Knapp;
cherished grandchildren Erica (Zachary) Boyce, Kirsten Zoon, Dana Zoon, Valerie Zoon, Jenna
(Frank) Giannelli, Jacob Wunsch, Kevin Wunsch, Eric Knapp, Ryan Knapp; great grandchildren
Leo and Rose Giannelli, Colin Boyce.
A memorial service to celebrate Josie’s life will take place on August 19th at The Chapel
in Lincoln Park at 11am. Those who wish to remember Josie in a special way may make gifts in
