Obituary for Kenrick Baynes

Kenrick Baynes was born September 17th 1949 in Georgetown, Guyana and transitioned to be with the Lord, October 28, 2020, in Sicklerville, New Jersey. He is preceded in death by his parents, Maude Baynes and Edward Fanfair.

Ken is survived by his loving wife, Beverley Baynes; his daughter Candice Baynes-Shaw and spouse Scott Shaw, his daughter Kasandrah Garnes and spouse David Garnes; and son Barrinton Baynes, Sr. and spouse Brandy Baynes. He has four beautiful grandchildren, Naomi, Christian, Barrinton, Jr. and Beauregard. He also left behind a host of dear relatives and close friends.

Ken truly loved music and was a bass guitarist for several bands in Guyana, St. Lucia and the United States. These bands included Combo 7, Mad Monks, The Gospel Disciples, and The Caribbean Connection, just to name a few. He was a spiritual man who loved the Lord, which led to the service of others. At his local church he was designated the role of Elder, and volunteered countless hours with both the young and old. This involved clothing, feeding, and ministering the word of God. Those who crossed his path would describe him as an avid listener, always eager to impart knowledge, even to total strangers.

To his grandchildren, he was the “Best Granddad in the World”. To his children, he was someone on whom they could always rely. To his wife, he was her partner in life and love. Kenrick Baynes was no doubt a family man, and his family will ensure his legacy lives on.
