Obituary for Lavinia Romana Tumin
TUMIN, Lavinia Romana (nee Crapanzano), passed away peacefully at age 93 on July 26, 2023. Deeply loved mother, grandmother, wife, sister, aunt and friend, Lavinia was born in Rome, Italy. She met her future husband, Edward, in 1956 on the Isle of Capri and moved to New Jersey in 1958 when they married. They moved to South Orange in 1962; and later Lavinia moved to Maplewood in 2001, and then to The Cliffs at Eagle Rock in West Orange in 2015.
Lavinia raised her children first, and held positions as a substitute teacher, a translator, a MetLife Insurance agent, and lastly as a real estate agent with Gladys Sands, Inc. in South Orange, from which she retired in 2005.
She is survived by her three daughters, Daniela Tumin, Eloisa Tumin, and Livia Tumin-Gasper (Mick); her three grandchildren, Edward Ficarra, Veronica Gasper, and Mickey Gasper, and nephews and nieces.
