NITTI, Marianne (nee Catenaro), age 73, of Elmwood Park, died on August 29, 2023. Born in Passaic, she was raised in Garfield settling in Elmwood Park 30 years ago. Marianne was a teacher 32 years with the Garfield Board of Education retiring in 2005 from School 7. She was a dedicated parishioner of St. Leo’s RC Church in Elmwood Park where she was an active member of the Rosary Society and Altar Guild, she was a member of the NJEA and the Elmwood Park AARP. She is survived by her two beloved children, Gina Nitti (Jimmy Dubroff) and Joseph Nitti (Lisa Maloney), three devoted sisters, Carole Totino (Raymond), Gloria Garofalo (Anthony), and Christine Catenaro (Tony Russo) and aunt of many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She is predeceased by her former husband, Joseph in 2011, and her parents, Guido and Mary Catenaro. Visiting Friday 4 to 8 pm. The funeral is Saturday, September 2, 2023, arriving at the Aloia Funeral Home at 10 am followed by a 11 am mass at St. Leo’s RC Church, Elmwood Park. Entombment St. Mary’s Cemetery, Saddle Brook. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Leo’s RC Church or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
