Obituary for Marie Grace Rigoglioso (Mustillo)

RIGOGLIOSO, Marie Grace (née Mustillo), age 94, of Garfield, died on March 30, 2023. Born and raised in Bayonne, she married the love of her life, Charles Rigoglioso, and settled in Garfield, where they raised their ten children. They were happily married for 62 years.

Marie was employed as an administrative assistant with her brother-in-law, Dr. Robert Rigolosi of Renal Medicine Associates, for over 35 years.

A passionate parishioner of Mt. Virgin church of Garfield, Marie served as the President of the Rosary Society. Marie was also an instructor of RCIA, a member of the Parish Council, a Eucharistic Minister, a leader and organizer of the Feast Committee, and organized many excursions to the theatre and basilicas. She prepared and served meals to the homeless, and her specialty was Italian meatballs. Her devotion was recognized throughout the community. She was the recipient of the Stewardship Award for her gifts of time, talent, and treasure to the parish and community.

Marie’s home was the heart and soul for her family, friends, and anyone looking for a great Italian meal, a warm conversation, or a helping hand. She was most proud of her children, their families, her grandchildren, and her great grandchildren. She’s predeceased by her beloved husband, Charles, her daughter-in-law Theresa, her brothers Anthony “Tony” Mustillo, and John Mustillo, and her parents Domenic and Carmela Mustillo. She was the devoted mother of JoAnn, Domenic, Esq. (Nancy), Vincent, M.D., Camille, M.D., Charles, D.D.S (Barbara), Robert (Lisa), Joseph, Esq. (Christoph), David (Marija), Honorable Richard, Mayor of Garfield (Jessie), and Daniel (Deborah). A loving grandmother of 30 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, an aunt to many nieces and nephews, a loving sister-in-law, and a caring friend.

Visiting is Monday, April 3, 2023 from 3 to 7pm at Aloia Funeral Home, Garfield. The funeral mass is Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at 11am at Our Lady of Mt. Virgin RC Church, Garfield. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery, Saddle Brook. Memorial donations may be made to Our Lady of Mt.
