Celebration of Life
Mary Ann Bellamy
18 December 1927 – 28 July 2023
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith” 2 Timothy 4:7
Mary Ann (Brancato) Bellamy, of Saddle Brook, NJ, died peacefully in her sleep at age 95 ½ years.
She was born in New York City and grew up in Garfield, NJ, with her brother Michael, playing with her favorite cousin Josephine (Iannaci) Caiozzo and her late uncle Pete Salerno. As the daughter of a lively Italian woman, she remained very close to her mother throughout her life. For a time, she lived in Paterson, NJ. On 10 October 1975, she married the love of her life, Fred D. Bellamy, Jr., and last year celebrated 46 years together. Mary had an easy smile and cute laugh, retaining her youthful voice well into latter years. Her inner joy radiated her positive outlook.
Mary was vivacious – she had a playful and lively spirit. She was funny and clever, telling rich family stories to the benefit of later generations. She maintained her faith, despite medical conditions, and invariably ended conversations with the benediction, “God bless you!” Laughter and loyalty were her specialties. We will all miss her more than words can convey.
Precious memories of Mary will be held by her beloved spouse, Fred; special nieces, Connie Coleman and Shirley Jones; and numerous dear relatives, including cousins Francyn Caiozzo, David, Deborah, and Sal (Cookie) Salerno. Her mother, Katherine (Salerno) Reynolds, and father, John Adamo, preceded Mary in death.
Plans for a memorial service are in progress. The Bellamy Family is in the care of the Aloia Funeral Home, 180 Harrison Avenue, Garfield, New Jersey (973-340-7077). Condolences visit www.aloiafuneral.com
