Obituary for Mary Elizabeth Malcolm (Dyer)

MALCOLM. Mary Elizabeth (nee Dyer), age 83, of Yakima, Washington, left this earth in the early hours of March 24, 2021, after a 14-year battle with dementia. Mary was born March 30, 1937 in Lewistown, Missouri. She moved to Minneapolis, MN, attending North Central University and meeting her husband to be, Rev. Larry D. Malcolm. Rev. Larry Malcolm and Mary were married for 60 years serving in ministry together in many locations. Their ministry brought them to Zaire, Zimbabwe, the Caribbean and Seattle, Washington at North West University. Mary was willing to help in every way, from assistant minister to running the print shop and ordering supplies. Until the time of her death, she served alongside her husband as he was staff pastor to the seniors at Stone Church in Yakima, Washington. She left a Godly legacy with 2 children serving in full-time pastoral ministry and one serving as a missionary to Africa’s Children. Her influence will be felt for many generations to come, she will be greatly missed. She is survived by her loving husband Rev. Larry D. Malcolm; one daughter Pastor Rebecca Czubkowski ( husband Pastor John); 3 sons, Stephen Malcolm (wife Connie), Rev. Philip Malcolm ( wife Robin), and Rev. Robert Malcolm (wife Erin); 16 grandchildren, Joshua, Jesse, Rev. Justin, Gabe, Jake, Grace, Toni, Becca, Brian, John, Ariana, Daniel, Charles, Sean, Liam and Zachary and 6 great-grandchildren, Ariella, Sadie, Levi, Mercy, Lachlan and Annabelle. She is also survived by her sister Margaret Monroe and her brother Robert Dyer. She was pre-deceased by her father Frances E. Dyer, her mother Mary Charlotte (Glaves) Dyer, and a grandson Jason Czubkowski. If you wish to show your condolences, you may do so in-person as Mary Malcolm is Memorialized, the service to be held this coming Sunday, March 28th, 10:45am at Praise Church: 145 Main Street in Garfield, NJ at the Palm Sunday Service.
