CANGIALOSI, Michael, age 78, of Saddle Brook, died on January 16, 2023 at his home. Born and raised in Garfield, Michael graduated St Bonaventure University with a Bachelors Degree in Journalism and a minor in Philosophy. Michael married his wife Marian from Paterson, NJ and moved to Wanaque/Ringwood, NJ to raise their family for 22 years. They returned to Garfield for 29 years, settling in Saddle Brook four years ago. In his younger years, Michael volunteered his time as a football and baseball coach. He worked in sales for over 50 years and ultimately retired as a VP of Sales with VTech Corporation. He was a parishioner of both Most Holy Name Church in Garfield and St. Francis of Assisi Church in Haskell.
Michael was known for his love of poetry and literature and his dedication to sports, most notably Notre Dame, the Giants and the Yankees. Michael will always be remembered for his humorous spirit, his gift for gab, and his contagious smile. Michael is predeceased by his son, Mark Cangialosi in 2012, and his parents, Michael, Sr. and Carmela Cangialosi. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marian (nee Padrezas), a daughter, Christy, a daughter-in-law, Gabrielle, and three grandchildren, Nico Cangialosi and Connor and Calen Aherne.
