MAITA, Michael Charles, age 58, of Wallington, died on August 4, 2022. Born in Passaic, NJ, Michael grew up in Lodi before settling in Wallington 30 years ago. He was a graduate of Lodi High School, class of '83, and was employed by County of Bergen Superior Court in Hackensack NJ for more than 30 years, serving most recently as a Judiciary Court Clerk. Michael was an avid sports enthusiast and devoted fan of his beloved NY teams - most especially the Yankees and Giants. Besides loving TV and movies, he possessed a remarkable knowledge of history and early Beatles music, which made him a fierce competitor when watching Jeopardy. Michael enjoyed cooking and often shared his favorite Italian specialties during celebrations with family and friends. He was a lovable, generous, humorous, and gentle guy who was never without a warm handshake, a hug, and a smile that could light up a room. He was cherished by all who knew him and will be greatly missed. Michael is survived by his loving parents, Charles and Marie Elaine Maita and dear sister, Charlene Maita. He is also survived by a large and loving extended family, and countless friends – all whose lives will be forever changed by his absence. Memorial Visiting will be held at Aloia Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, from 4 to 6 pm. Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, August 11 at Our Lady of Mt.
