Obituary for Michael Joseph Grohsman

GROHSMAN, Michael, age 67, raised in Passaic, but most recently a 19-year resident of Garfield, died on December 30, 2021. He was a proud patriot, serving in the US Army, 82nd Airborne, in Fort Bragg, Fayetteville, North Carolina, later joining Factual Investigation as a career he retired from at the age of 65. Michael was a prominent member of the community, the Clifton Elks Lodge and he volunteered as a Scout Leader (Troop 249) for The Boy Scouts of America for over 25 years within Garfield. Michael will be remembered endlessly for his unique sense of humor, and many who knew him can speak to his passion for history, Star Wars, Monty Python, the Giants & Yankees, and his deep love for camping and outdoor survival. He is predeceased by his loving parents, Rose and Joseph Grohsman. He is survived by his loving wife of 19 years and step-children, MaryAnn Coyle, Lauren Mitchell, John Coyle and wife Jessica Coyle, his sister, Joann Depaola, his three children and ex-wife, Michael Grohsman, Jr, Sara I. Grohsman, Katie M. Grohsman and husband Gil Torres, Lisa J. Grohsman, and one grandchild, Brie L. Woldman. A memorial service will be scheduled in Spring/Summer of 2022.
