Obituary

TROPONA, Nicholas T. “Sonny”, age 94, a lifelong resident of Lodi, died on May 17, 2021. Sonny was a oil burner mechanic over 35 years for Fairclough Oil in Newton retiring in 1990, he was a member of the American Legion Post, and proudly served in the United States Army from 1945 to 1946. Sonny is predeceased by his wife of 70 years, Lena (nee Buono) in 2019. He is survived by two loving children, Frank Tropona and wife April, and Maryann Chesnut, four cherished grandchildren, Craig, Brian and wife Cassandra, Jason, and Nicole and husband Chris, and seven great-grandchildren. The funeral is Wednesday, May 19, 2021, arriving at the Aloia Funeral Home at 10 am followed by an 11:30 am chapel service. Entombment St. Nicholas Cemetery, Lodi. In lieu of flowers the family will accept memorial gifts to the American Heart Association. The Tropona family is in the care of the Aloia Funeral Home, 180 Harrison Ave., Garfield (973-340-7077).
