MATASSA, Peter, age 85, of Lodi, died on December 7, 2020. Born in Passaic, he resided in Garfield 28 years settling in Lodi 57 years ago. He was a computer programmer and consultant for 40 years, with his last two places of employment with Wechsler Coffee in Moonachie and then Flaghouse, Inc. in Hasbrouck Heights retiring in 2005, and was a parishioner of Mt. Virgin Church, Garfield. He is predeceased by his wife, Patricia in 2006, and his parents, Michael and Antonette. He is survived by two sons, Michael P. Matassa (Diane) and Peter Matassa, Jr. (Laura), four grandchildren, Christopher, Daniel (Chelsea), Lindsay (Joe), and Julianne, and two great-grandchildren, Liam and Callie. The funeral is Saturday, January 2, 2021 arriving at the funeral home at 8 am followed by a 9 am mass at Our Lady of Mount Virgin RC Church, Garfield. Entombment Calvary Cemetery, Paterson.
