GARDNER, Richard Andrew, age 70, died on January 16, 2022 after a hard battle with cancer. He is deeply missed but forever in the hearts of his loved ones. He will always be remembered for his undying love for his family, bad dad jokes, love of the Beatles and movie trivia. He always spoke of his fond memories growing up in Union City, his cousins, the 60's and all the musical talent he saw throughout his life. Richie worked 38 years of his career on the railroad before retiring in 2012 to enjoy his remaining 10 years with his family and his best fur buddy, Holly, whom he took long walks and played many games of fetch with. Richie is survived by his wife of 32 years, Diane, two daughters, Heather and her husband Alex, and Emily, his puppy, Holly, a sister, Connie and her husband Frank, and a brother, Ed and his wife Vickie. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 10 AM on February 5, 2022 at Our Lady of Lourdes RC Church, 44 Cleveland Avenue, Milltown, NJ 08850.
