STRAUCH, Richard Frank, age 78, of Garfield, died on January 31, 2023. Born and raised in Paterson for 28 years, settling in Garfield 50 years ago. Richard served in the US Navy during the Vietnam Era, and he was a route driver with Empire Overall in Elmwood Park for 25 years and 10 years with American Wear in East Orange retiring in 2017. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 45 years, Carol-Ann (nee Schomp), three beloved children, Carol-Ann Zollinger and husband Neil, Theresa Byrd and husband Robert and Richard Strauch and wife Kristen, four cherished grandchildren, Aimee, Alexis, Zach and Aria, and a dear brother, Joseph Strauch and wife Carol. He is predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Mary Strauch. A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date. The family is accepting donations in Richard’s name to the Garfield VFW Post 2867, 340 Outwater Lane, Garfield, NJ 07026.
