KOZUHA, Rose (nee Esker) of Garfield, passed peacefully on Friday, January 29, 2021. She was born in Bilje, former Yugoslavia, now Croatia. She was a survivor of the Donauschwaben genocide. At the age of 30, Rose came to the United States with her husband and thier three young children, settling in Paterson, where she had another daughter. In 1972, Rose and her family moved to Garfield. She was employed at Beattie Rugs in Little Falls, Marcal Paper Products in Elmwood Park, and Union Camp in Clifton. She retired in 1993. She enjoyed working in her garden, tending to her beautiful flowers and delicious vegetables. During gatherings in her home, her family always appreciated her hand made egg noodles that were used in her traditional and much loved homemade soup. Spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren was the joy of her life. She had a very loving heart and always made everyone feel welcomed. She spoke 4 languages and delighted in cooking and hosting holidays for her loved ones. Her sweet spirit will always be treasured and remembered.

Rose was the beloved wife of the late Joseph (1998), and is predeceased by her son John in 2020, and sister, Barbara Sich in 2021. Loving mother of George Kozuha and wife Diane, Rose Kobryn and husband George, and Mary Majewski. Grandmother of David (Yolanda), John Michael (Jen), Christopher (Garyn), Jonathan (Liz), Timothy, Kimberly (Gary), Amanda, Josh, and Matthew. Great grandmother of Ayden and Taylor. Visiting Thursday 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM followed by a chapel service. Interment Cedar Lawn Cemetery, Paterson.
