Obituary for Salvatore LoPinto

LoPINTO, Salvatore, age 90, of Elmwood Park, died on October 19, 2020. Born and raised in Marineo, Sicily-Italy, he lived there for 40 years and Garfield for 6 years settling in Elmwood Park 44 years ago. He owned and operated Venice Bakery in Garfield over 20 years retiring in 1998, he was the treasurer 20 years for the St. Ciro Society, Garfield, he was a member of the St. Joseph’s Society, Lodi, and a founding father and benefactor of the Our Lady of Guadalupe Chapel in Marineo, Sicily-Italy. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Giuseppa (nee Vilardi), his devoted daughter, Dora D'Amico and husband Frank, three cherished grandchildren, Francesca LoCascio and husband Michael, Josephine D’Amico and Maria D’Amico, one adored great-grandson, Santino LoCascio, and a dear brother, Antonino LoPinto. He is predeceased by his parents, Giuseppe and Dorotea LoPinto. Visiting Wednesday 5 to 8 pm. The funeral is Thursday, October 22, 2020, arriving at the Aloia Funeral Home at 10 am followed by a 11 am mass at Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church, Garfield. Entombment St. Nicholas Cemetery, Lodi. In lieu of flowers the family is accepting donations for the St. Ciro Society Scholarship Fund, 54 Gaston Avenue, Garfield, NJ 07026.
