Obituary for Santo Lo Cascio

Lo CASCIO, Santo, age 66, of Elmwood Park, died on March 4, 2021. Born in Bolognetta, Sicily-Italy he lived there as a child moving to the Bronx four years, Garfield seven years, and Lodi 23 years moving to Elmwood Park 27 years ago. Santo was a waiter for Michele’s Restaurant 13 years, John Crane Packing three years, then shifting careers to the insurance field. He was an insurance agent and manager for 29 years at Monumental Life until 2012 when he started his own business, Lo Cascio Financial Group the past nine years. Santo was devoted to the St. Anthony Society of Garfield serving as President for 13 years and Vice President for 2 years, and received the Man of the Year Award, he was a Honorary Member and Dinner Chairman of the St. Joseph’s Society NY/NJ, a parishioner of Mt. Virgin Church in Garfield, the treasurer of Immacolata Concezione Societa of Garfield, and a member of the Com. It. Es. NY. He is predeceased by his parents, Salvatore and Maria Lo Cascio and father-in-law, Giuseppe Leto. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 41 years, Anna (nee Leto), four beloved children, Salvatore and wife Alyssa, Joseph, Michael and wife Francesca, and Ashley, cherished grandfather of Gabriella, Santino, and Lorenzo, and a dear brother of Maria Benanti and husband Nuccio, Modesto Lo Cascio and wife Marisa, John Lo Cascio, and Anthony Lo Cascio, mother-in-law Santina Leto, in-laws Vincenzo and Rosa Leto, Cira and Rosolino Panzarella, Josephine and Vincent Cusmano, and many beloved nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Visiting Tuesday 4 to 8 pm. The funeral is Wednesday, March 10, 2021, arriving at the Aloia Funeral Home at 10 am followed by an 11 am mass at Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church, Garfield. Entombment St. Mary's Cemetery, Saddle Brook. In lieu of flowers the family is accepting donations to the St. Anthony Society Scholarship Fund.
