Obituary for Stephen Philip Di Salvo

Di SALVO, Stephen Philip, age 79, a lifelong resident of Garfield, died on January 29, 2022 surrounded by his immediate family. Stephen served our country as a U.S. Army infantry soldier from 1964 to 1966. He was a parishioner of Mt. Virgin Church and a former choir member. He worked 40 years as a letter carrier for the US Postal Service in South Hackensack, retiring in 2002. In his retirement, he worked as a security guard part time at MetLife stadium in East Rutherford until a few short years ago. Loving husband of Barbara (nee Petrencak). Devoted father of Diana Uribe and husband Percy, and Leane Sikes and husband O.J. Adoring grandfather of Amanda, Zane, Jay, and James. He is predeceased by his sister, Cecelia De Salvo, and parents Stefano and Anna De Salvo. He loved his family dearly and was happiest in their company. Visiting Wednesday 4 to 8 pm. The funeral is Thursday, February 3, 2022, arriving at the Aloia Funeral Home at 10 am followed by a 11 am mass at Our Lady of Mt. Virgin RC Church, Garfield. Interment St. Nicholas Cemetery, Lodi.
