DERRIG, Susan V. (nee DeAngelo), age 81, of Garfield, died on September 6, 2023. Susan was born and raised in Passaic for 20 years before spending 12 years in Clifton and then deciding to call Garfield home 49 years ago. She was the Executive Vice President of Sales for the General Telephonics Corporation in Dumont before retiring. She was a perfect blend of courage, wisdom, love, sass, compassion, humor, ferocity, and grace. She loved God and her family; and adopted pets and humans, alike—no questions asked—and loved them back to life. And anyone who met her, even for a second, came away changed. Susan is predeceased by her husband, Charles, in 1996, her parents, James Dangelo and Susie Kaytor, and her siblings, Emma Bohacik and Marie Gazda. She is survived by her loving children: Susan Cirello and her husband Marc; Gregory Derrig and his wife, Eleuza; Robert Derrig and his wife Claudia; and Richard Derrig and his wife, Margo. She also had ten beloved grandchildren: Jennifer-Leigh; Robbie and his wife, Nadia; Kayla and her husband, Dave; Matthew; Charles; Julia: and Victoria and her husband, Jack. She also adored her three great-children: Cassandra, Madison, and Aubriella. The visiting will be held on Friday, September 8, from 2-6 p.m. The funeral will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2023, arriving at the Aloia Funeral Home at 8 a.m. followed by a 9 a.m. mass at Our Lady of Mt.
