Anthony J.  Giuffre
GIUFFRE, Anthony J., age 83, of Elmwood Park, died on May 17, 2015. Born and raised in Lyndhurst, he lived in Garfield before moving to Elmwood Park 15 years ago. He was the purchasing agent for 19 years with the Passaic Valley Sewerage Commission, Newark retiring in 1997, and previously, a cost accountant for Uniroyal in Passaic. He was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Garfield, a former Garfield Housing Authority Commissioner, Garfield Planning Board Member, and Garfield Zoning Board Member, and a charter member and past president of the Garfield Jaycees. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Patricia (nee Kasica), a son, Thomas J. Giuffre and girlfriend Christine McGeehan, two daughters, Leane Surma and partner Richard Scro, and Jacqueline Foley and husband William, and a granddaughter, Lauren Surma. Visiting Wednesday 4 to 8 pm. The funeral is Thursday, May 21, 2015, meeting directly at St. Stanislaus Kostka RC Church, Garfield for a 10 am Mass. Entombment St. Mary’s Cemetery, Saddle Brook. Please omit flowers. The family is accepting donations for Anthony’s favorite charities. The Giuffre family is in the care of the Aloia Funeral Home, 180 Harrison Ave., Garfield (973-340-7077).
