ALFONSO, Matthew W., Jr., age 56, a lifelong resident of Garfield, died on January 20, 2017. He was a furniture repairman from 1978-2009 with his family business, Matt Alfonso Furniture Repair in Garfield, and then worked as a department manager for Home Depot in Passaic for 10 years retiring in 2015. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Virgin RC Church, Garfield. He was the cherished father of Amanda Alfonso and Matthew W. Alfonso, III, adored grandfather of William Matthew, loving brother of Anthony Alfonso and wife Eveline, and dear uncle of Julianna and Anthony Alfonso, Jr. He is predeceased by his parents, Ida and Matthew W. Alfonso, Sr. Visiting Sunday 7 to 9 pm. The funeral is Monday, January 23, 2017, arriving at the Aloia Funeral Home at 10 am followed by an 11 am mass at Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church, Garfield.
