Obituary for Geraldina Rodriguez (Castellanos)
RODRIGUEZ, Geraldina (nee Castellanos), age 93, of Newark, died on April 20, 2017. Born in Havana, Cuba, she lived there for 30 years before emigrating to the United States. She then resided in New York, NY for 6 years settling in Newark 57 years ago. She was a homemaker, and a parishioner of St. Peter’s RC Church in Belleville. Geraldina was a care giver to everyone she knew and treated them like her family. Her home was always open to anyone in need. She is predeceased by her husband, Antonio in 1979. Loving mother of Antonio (Deborah) Rodriguez, Alfa (Salvatore) Lano, and Zoe M. (Robert) Ringwald, cherished grandmother of Ivette and Rony, Raymond and Kirsten, Vanessa and Luis, and Tiffany and Kirk, and beloved great-grandmother of Emily, Alexa, Brenden, Nicholas, Riley, and Nolan with one on the way. Memorial Visiting Thursday 7 to 9 pm with an 8:30 pm chapel service. Interment of cremated remains will be 9 am on Friday at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. The Rodriguez family is in the care of the Aloia Funeral Home, 180 Harrison Ave., Garfield (973-340-7077). Condolences/Directions visit aloiafuneral.com
